Case Study
VT Land
For major organisations that deliver complex services explaining the range, depth and quality of their work poses quite a challenge. Printed material or web pages can list the services provided, but it takes a rich multimedia approach to really bring the business to life.
VT Land is part of the VT Group which is a large specialist services organisation with a footprint in defence, aviation, broadcasting and the maritime world.
The company is the largest provider of military training in the UK, delivering complex advanced trade and technology training to over 12,000 military personnel in the UK every year. VT Land is also the biggest operator of “white” fleet – normal civilian vehicles – and “green” fleet – specialist military vehicles - for the Ministry of Defence in the UK, including an extensive plant equipment business too.
Argo Media was asked to undertake a stills photography project to provide an updated library of images to support marketing and communications needs.
Argo Media then edited together a main VT Land video to give an overview, plus a series of business-specific videos to profile their services and show the quality of their work. Scripting for the videos was done by developing a clear business profile, identifying unique selling points and defining the product propositions in each case. With the scripts written, footage digitised and a voiceover artist selected, the videos were then edited to music and interviews with two of the Commandants of the Schools of Engineering, as well as with key VT Land personnel.
The final VT Land Media Toolkit will consist of an interactive DVD for all the videos, plus a Blu Ray HD disc for presentations, as well as streaming media files that will be uploaded onto the VT Land website. In addition, the full resolution stills plus a large library of HDV stills will be created to support VT Land’s marketing operations. The 32 hours of HDV video will go on being available as a resource to VT Land for additional video requirements in the future.
