Case Study

BP North Everest
BP operates a number of similar platforms around the world with similar flare systems, so when the North Everest platform’s flare needed replacing, it made a lot of sense to capture the process on video so that it could then be used to train the crews on other platforms.
Argo Media worked with BP, Vertech the specialist engineering company that would be doing the work and Scotia Helicopters that carried out the lifting operations, to prepare for the filming.
This involved developing detailed shooting and safety plans. Only one person was allowed to go offshore to do all the filming because of constraints on accommodation and transport out to the platform.
Argo’s producer/cameraman operated the four high definition cameras: one on the helicopter, one on the flare tower and two covering the helideck and loading area.
The teamwork of all the companies involved in the operation was captured offshore, then edited to provide completely document the entire operation.
